Q: What does it cost to join the club?
A: The annual dues are $150.

Q: What does the dues pay for?
A: The $150 pays for the annual BASS National dues ($30); BASS State dues ($35); Club dues($85)

Q: What do I get for my $150?
A: As a member of the Shady Tree Bassmasters, you are also a full member of the BASS Federation Nation. You will receive a monthly subscription to BASS Times Newspaper and a bi-monthly subscription to Bass Club Digest. These two magazines give detailed information on how to catch more fish. You are eligible to fish any club, regional or state open tournament. Your BASS membership is upgraded to BASS Insider and you can access the Insider Area on the Bassmaster website.

Q: What does the club do with the rest of the annual dues?
A: The Shady Tree Bassmasters is a federated club and annually, we send the best two members based on the previous year final standings to the State level Mr. BASS competition. Additionally, the club also sends the best six members based on the previous year final standings to the State level Six-Man Team competition. In both cases, the club pays the entrance fees and the hotel cost for those teams. The club also purchases plaques for every club member. The plaque contains 10 spaces that has engraved brass plates that track the final standing for each member. This allows them to know as a glance how they have finish during previous seasons. We also have an annual picnic, which is held during the summer and this is paid for by the club.

Q: How do I join?
A: Come to a regular club meeting which are held on the first Monday of each month in the conference room of Capital GMC. We will ask you some questions about your fishing ability and you will be able to ask questions about the club. If decide to join, we will vote you in at that meeting. Be prepared to pay your club dues. Also bring your BASS membership number. If you don't have one, we can sign you up at the meeting.

Q. If I join in the middle of the tournament season, do I still pay the full club dues?
A: No. Members joining the club after the half way point in the season and after the next to last tournament of the year will pay reduced club dues of $42.50 and must request an exception to complete in the classic tournament as a full member. All members joining the club with only one tournament remaining in the season will pay the future year club dues of $85.00 and will be granted honorary membership for the remainder of the current year. However, these members will not be allowed to compete in the annual classic tournament as a full member since they did not meeting the minimum membership requirements.
